What is the Fear & Greed Index?
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index measures overall market sentiment on a scale of 0 to 100. A value of 0 means "Extreme Fear" — investors are very worried and may be selling. A value of 100 means "Extreme Greed" — the market is overly bullish and may be due for a correction.
How is it Calculated?
The index is based on multiple data sources:
- Volatility (25%) — Current volatility vs. 30/90 day averages
- Market Volume (25%) — Current volume vs. averages
- Social Media (15%) — Twitter/Reddit sentiment analysis
- Surveys (15%) — Community polling data
- Bitcoin Dominance (10%) — BTC market share changes
- Google Trends (10%) — Search interest data
